Title: Rebirth of a Sage
Author: Lani Gonzales
Publication Date: October 2nd 2022
Print Length: 62 pages
Genre: Spiritual Self-Help Memoir
~
A TRANSFORMATIONAL MEMOIR OF LOVE AND LIGHT.

In Lani Gonzales' intimate self-help debut, Rebirth of a Sage, readers meet the woman she was when she discovered ayahuasca and commenced her journey toward spiritual rejuvenation. Panicked, fearful, and drained, she hoped for an escape for both her and the lonely little girl she'd buried inside. Guided by the Shamans and supported by friends she made along the way, her cleanse progressed one ceremony at a time, culminating in a state of pure spiritual refinement.

Through eleven soul-stirring chapters enriched with enlightenment and healing, readers experience a kaleidoscope of emotions as they journey with Lani. A heartwarming chronicle ensues, traversing the blissful highs and devastating lows she faced along her way to rebirth. Unburying her darkest demons, she inspires us to do the same, gradually weaving threads of transformation and encouraging us to reconnect and reignite the divine flame within our souls.

EXCERPT:
I will not carry the weight of your sin.
It is yours to carry, and not my own.
When my innocent eyes looked to you,
You took your life, and I slowly lost my own.
But that is your sin to carry, and your sin alone.

I will not carry the weight of your sin.
It is yours to carry, and not my own.
You taught me that life was worthless,
Something that easily comes and goes.
But that is your sin to carry, and your sin alone.

You trespassed on my innocence, the pureness of my soul.
But that is your sin to carry, and your sin alone.

I will not carry the weight of your sin.
It is yours to carry, and not my own.
You told me to be silent. You told me to be still.
But something inside me rotted; something inside me grew cold.
But that is your sin to carry, and your sin alone.

I will not carry the weight of your sin.
It is yours to carry, and not my own.
You violated my body, using it for the needs of your own.
But that is your sin to carry, and your sin alone.

I will not carry the weight of your sin.
It is yours to carry, and not my own.
The weight I’ve tried to shed.
The weight I’ve tried to purge.
Deceived into believing it should be shed from my body, the vessel for my soul.
But the weight that should be lost is that of your original sin, your sin, and yours alone.

I will not carry the weight of your sin.
It is not mine to carry.
It is yours and yours alone.

GUEST POST:
When people think of the word “growth,” they think of positive things: advancement, gain and improvement. What we overlook is that growth means so much more.

Sometimes growth means loss. After my experience with ayahuasca, I became a happier and healthier person. However, part of my growth was learning to walk away from relationships with people who were complacent and content with being unhappy and unhealthy.

Sometimes growth means grief. I grieved over relationships that no longer aligned with who I am and who I was becoming. My life was moving in a new direction with new possibilities and opportunities. Despite my excitement for the new life that I was building, I still grieved the life that I once had.

Sometimes growth means fear. Before my experience with ayahuasca, I built a beautiful life. I was a self-sufficient and successful lawyer. My life was perfect on paper. But after coming face-to-face with my highest wisdom and my highest truths during the ayahuasca ceremony, I knew that I was meant for so much more. But what was next? I knew that I needed to start a new chapter of my life, but I was afraid of leaving the comfortable places, people and job that once served me. I was afraid of the unknown.

Sometimes growth means trust. Starting a new chapter in my life, I had to trust that I was walking away from a good life to build a better life. I had to trust in myself. I had to trust in the universe.

Sometimes growth means surrender. The most important part of my growth was surrender. I learned to surrender to a power greater than my own. I learned to surrender to the infinite possibility of the universe to make all my dreams come true.
