Nine Hundred years before Christ, God has cast his wife, Asherah, out of heaven and condemned her to roam the earth as the first vampire. Over the centuries, she created other vampires. There are also those that she left for dead but survived her attack without being completely turned into vampires. These survivors are called Cardinals. Scottish Countess Kellena Donnachaidh and Lady Suzette Allard, our protagonists, are among these cardinals. They are searching out Asherah for a final conflict.
Asherah has discovered a way back to heaven so she can exact her vengeance. Using the Amulet of Cassiel she can call the Flaming chariot of Israel to return to heaven and exact her revenge on God.
Now, 3000 years later, the Vatican and other groups are working to destroy Asherah and the vampires., fearing their own destruction if she ascends, simply want to stop Asherah using the Amulet of Cassiel to re-enter heaven. The race and intrigue to recover the Amulet is full of intrigue, betrayal.
A completely new twist on Stoker’s tale.

EXCERPT:
She looked at the wall that had several shields and battle-axes mounted on it. These were genuine articles, not just some ceremonial display. She took a battle-axe from the wall. Kellena took out her phone and texted her security team.
“911, Residence”
Despite her small stature, Kellena was not a woman easily frightened. Carrying the battle-ax, she ventured into the apartment.
“Timberland!” She called louder.
The female wolf was going insane inside the room she was locked in. She was terribly protective of Kellena. Kellena opened the door.
“Someone is in here that shouldn’t be go get ‘em, girl,” she said as both the wolf and maltipoo tore past her.
There was a mad scramble at the security office after Kellena’s text arrived. Iain McCaulley and two others on duty in the Business Office tore down the hall toward the residence.
“Weapons free, but don’t shoot Miss Donnachaidh,” Iain told them. Both men already had their pistols drawn. Iain touched his badge to the security pad.
“Breach,” he shouted.
The three piled into the residence, clearing rooms as they went.
“Kellena?” Iain called.
He heard Timberland growling and barking.
“Follow the growling,” Iain told the other guards.
Kellena had reached the door to her study when Iain and his men entered her apartment. She could hear someone inside searching. Kellena opened the door and rushed in.
“Who are you and what do you want?” she yelled with the battle-ax raised. A woman in the study turned and struck her axe with a Syrian khopesh.
“That… is an unusual weapon.” the woman told Kellena.
“You as well.” Kellena replied, parrying the khopesh away.
Kellena responded to the parry with a swing. The axe almost found its mark. Slicing through the woman’s blouse. A thin red line appeared on her shirt. Timberland burst into the study and grabbed the woman’s hand holding the blade. Timberland savaged her wrist, causing her to drop the blade. Blood spilled across the study. The coppery smell moved in a cloud toward the door.
