From Rajeev Bhargava’s Brass Mineral Lighthouse

A towering Brass Mineral Lighthouse Hospice for the Terminally Undead had been built in Hell, using zombie workers, by order of the Federation of Monsters. Its presiding member was none other than Beelzebub. It stood planted in a sea of blood with its blinding beam of light. The inpatients, all monsters, of course, had been brought in by the Grim Reaper on his raft of human bones, which acted as their ambulance across the vast hot seas of blood. The reason: quite recently, a deadly pandemic had appeared and was spreading fast, infecting the monster population. This infection had no name yet, let alone a cure. Only one thing was sure. Once it was caught, it made its victims more human, announcing that the end was near. Only one mineral, brass, kept it at bay for a short while. The infection affected each kind of monster differently.

Inside the lighthouse, an endless row of spiral staircases led to various corridors that led to wardrooms where monster-patients were getting care. There was a secluded ward where staff provided end-of-life care under palliative care and sedation.

Inside an upper ward, a 347-year-old female ghoul stood and looked around with her blood-red eyes, drooling saliva wherever she walked.
