IS THERE LIFE AFTER?
Setting out on her adventures, Angie is best described as endearingly tragic as she gives a truly laugh-out-loud account of what could possibly go wrong when her long-term marriage comes to an end. Extolling the many pitfalls of being single is no laughing matter and being thrown into the dating arena is even worse.
When curiosity to view a certain piece of the male anatomy takes priority, bedlam unfolds. Angie’s journey will leave you in fits of laughter while raising your eyebrows in absolute disdain.
Taking you from “Hell No” to “Hell Yes,” this two-part true story taps into a range of emotions as you travel along with Angie on her voyage of self-discovery. A captivating exposé of courage and raw honesty in finding a new beginning when life takes a nosedive, this compelling portrayal of compassion gives insight into the weakest and strongest moments of what it is to be human.
You will fall in love with Angie and won’t be able to stop turning the pages to see what she will do next. To err on the side of caution is not Angie's strong suit. Heart wrenching, yet hilariously funny in the unique style of telling her tale, it’s never a surprise when she ends up on several occasions with her tail between her legs!
Does she ever learn?
This book is one of a kind, and better still, so is Angie Bardot.
“What an inspiring, self-reflecting, self-effacing, honest, eye-opening sex goddess she is – I loved it!” MARY – WHO WANTED TO KNOW MORE
“Uplifting and HILARIOUS, I’ve never, ever laughed so hard. I literally couldn’t stop reading.” VANESSA – WHO ISN’T A READER

The Gym Versus Netflix
I wanted something to do in the evenings. Seeing as I
had never exercised, what better thing to do than go
to the gym? There was one close to me, so I took the
plunge and joined for three months to see how I liked it. I had
lost ten kilos during the initial stages of my departure and
went from a happy oompa-loompa to a saggy, skinny, lighter
self. My arms were the worst affected from the rapid weight
loss, and they flapped when I moved, much to my annoyance.
I needed muscle, and how better to build up muscle than at
the gym?
I was hesitantly confident that I would sculpt the new me
in no time. All I had to do was commit to a healthier lifestyle.
I enjoyed going at first. I had some free passes which meant
that my two well-meaning daughters could accompany me to
make it even more fun. Great! I was doing something for me
and my own self-improvement.
Three months went by rapidly. I felt the confidence to
join for twelve months. Winter started setting in and it was
getting dark earlier, so I began to ease up on going the usual
three times per week. Two times per week would still keep me
toned and I could feel my arms getting firmer. It was time to
alter my usual workout routine and mix it up a bit, so said the
lovely young skinny girl that I was assigned to. Yes, I am up
for a challenge. After all, I am fit now, aren’t I?
We did squats and that’s when it all went downhill.
Couldn’t she see I was in my twilight years? As if I would
be able to go from down near the floor with my knees bent,
straight back up fifteen times without incident. I’m surprised
she didn’t use a whip!
I strained my back and had to rest. I put my membership
on hold for a month. A few months later, I still didn’t have the
slightest desire to return. I put on five kilos, with my tummy
roll back, along with my long-lost hip and thigh flab. The arm
muscle I had built up deserted me and left me “flappy” and
not so happy. It’s not like I haven’t told myself off—I have.
And yes, I have listened to myself and am taking action. I am
going back. I decided I would start again. Take the bull by the
horns and regain my healthy lifestyle, and buff body…or less
flappy arms will do, actually. Small steps, not large strides.
There are no miracles, it’s all up to me!
I went to the supermarket after work and bought “healthy.”
You need good food at your reach when you get the munchies.
Be prepared! I bought up big.
I got home and straight away got into my gym gear. I just
wanted a cuppa before heading off to walk there. After the
cuppa I decided I was famished, so I had a healthy dinner. I
turned on the telly while I ate. I got Netflix recently when I
had the internet connected, and it’s great.
I was still sitting there three hours later. Too late to venture
out now, I thought.
I have disappointed myself on numerous occasions and this
was indeed another one of them. I was so annoyed with myself
I ate some popcorn and biscuits. I was feeling sorry for not
going to the gym when I clearly meant to. When I changed
out of my gym gear and got into bed, all I could say to myself
was, “Angie Bardot, you are pathetic.”
I don’t think I’ll be back to the gym any time soon. They
must love people like me.
