80s rock star, Haley Rose, and her boyfriend went missing without a trace on October 31, 1988, and were eventually presumed dead. Three decades later, thirty-year-old, Rowan Beckett, recalls things only Haley Rose would know, and she can belt out songs in the same unique fashion. However, Rowan couldn't be the missing rock star since Haley would now be in her fifties. Could Haley Rose have come back reincarnated as Rowan Beckett? Or is Rowan as delusional as her family suspects?

EXCERPT:
She carefully maneuvered her way down the dirt road where the foliage threatened to overtake the path, confirming her suspicions that no one had driven down here for quite some time. She glanced on either side of the road as she drove slowly, the worn gravel crunching beneath her tires. A flash of white in her peripheral vision made her rivet her gaze to the front where a woman stood in the road.

"Holy crap!"

She slammed on the breaks and swerved, knowing she was going to hit the woman no matter her attempts to avoid her. She careened into the bushes, bringing the car to an abrupt halt. Her seatbelt tightened against her and jarring her back against her seat. She sat there, squeezing the steering wheel. The only audible sound was her heart pounding in her ears. She whirled around in her seat to look toward the road. Had she hit the woman? She hadn't heard the dreaded thud of soft tissue colliding against unforgiving metal. Her fingers fumbled to undo the seatbelt before she threw open her door. Swiping away the foliage, as she hurried up the incline to the dirt road. Dread laced its way up her spine threatening to choke her. Her gaze frantically searched the area for the woman. She jogged to the other side of the road. If she had hit the lady, maybe she'd been thrown in the opposite direction.

Nothing. Nada. No sign of anyone. Her gaze traveled back to her car as another horrific image came to mind, but she had to know. With heavy steps, she went back to investigate. She crouched down on her hands and knees and took a deep breath before she quickly glanced under her vehicle.

GUEST POST:
- Who or what is your writing muse?

I have different muses for my books. For Heart and Soul, my inspiration was my love for music and concerts. I took in a show at a small venue where a coffeehouse was attached to the front part of the building, and the stage was located in the back room. Even though the coffeehouse had nothing to do with the entertainment and who they hired to play for the night, I loved the concept so much it inspired me to create the 'Heart and Soul,' my fictional coffeehouse that is run by Maverick, a former rock star. Patrons can frequent the coffeehouse for their drink of choice and lunch specials, but they can also take in a show. What a better way to enjoy an evening with music and coffee or perhaps an Earl Grey latte as my character Rowan likes to drink?
