Title: Raven's CoveSeries: An Iconoclast Thriller Book 1
Author: Mary Ann Poll
Publisher: Publication Consultants
Publication Date: March 1st 2019
Genre: Supernatural Thriller
~
Welcome to Ravens Cove, Alaska, a tiny town nestled in a small hollow on the majestic Cook Inlet. A town familiar with storytelling—after all, Alaska abounds in rich legends. In Ravens Cove, though, legends have a tendency to come to life.
Meet Josiah Williams, the peculiar stranger whose warning to lifetime residents Kat Tovslosky and her cousin, Sheriff Bart Andersen, raises more questions than answers; a man whose dark past and knowledge of the murders make him a suspect more than an ally. Join Kat and Bart as an unlikely troop forms (including a very unwelcome FBI agent) to discover the identity of a killer. The unearthing of which will throw the reluctant warriors into a battle for their very lives and the lives of all who call Ravens Cove home.

EXCERPT:
Ken and Bart started up Main, the group falling in a few steps behind.
Bart turned. “Not you. This is way too dangerous.”
“This is too dangerous for us not to join you,” Josiah answered.
The group turned eyes on Bart and Ken.
“Legend or not, in good conscience, I cannot let you come along. How am I going to know I’m doing my job, when the two most important women in my life,” Bart looked from Kat to Grandma Bricken, “would be heading right into the path of possible life-ending danger?”
“And how, Bartholomew, could I live with myself if I allowed my most beloved great-nephew to walk into definite spiritual death?”
A death scream ruptured the night’s silence. It came from the direction of the ravine.
“That was no animal,” Kat said.
Grandma’s head shot up to Bart. She stared into his eyes. “We will be accompanying you tonight, Bartholomew Anderson!” She clutched her cane and started for the ravine.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

I draw from real-life experiences, as well as my imagination, to create these supernatural thrillers. My love for a creepy, goosebump-creating ghost story and my love for Christ come together in these books.
I am a proud pet lover, which is also reflected in my writing. In my off time, I enjoy gardening, swimming and spending time with beloved family.
I pray you enjoy reading Raven's Cove as much as I enjoyed writing it. Blessings in Christ!

GUEST POST:
Have you ever found yourself in a spooky situation? If so, what happened? If not, would you want to be? Why or why not?

No, I don’t want to be in a spooky situation. I have had my share, and I don’t believe seeking out ghosts is wise. That said, I wouldn’t write what I do without some personal experience of the spirit world.

DeleteLove the cover! What inspired you to write this book?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind comment about the cover. I do love it, too.
DeleteI am more surprised than anyone that I became an author. In 1998 a disc ruptured in my neck, leaving me unable to continue in my career in administration. It took a couple of years to heal. The journey to writing and publishing was full of trips down other paths – going back to work time and again to make the almighty dollar and avoid the emotions and mental weariness of writing. I took courses, joined online chat groups and talked about writing until I was blue in the face. I finally accepted the desire to write a book was not going away. It took twelve years to summon the courage to write and complete Ravens Cove.
Very interesting cover, adds to the feel of the book.
ReplyDeleteThanks much for taking time to comment. It really encourages me.
DeleteThis has a great cover and is one of my favorite genres. Sounds so good.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I pray you get a chance to read it. It's on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and other sites, too. It is also in audiobook format through audible. Thank you again
DeleteIf you could write in another genre, which would it be?
ReplyDeleteGreat question, Victoria. I'd stick close to this genre. My second love is a good mystery. So, that is what I'd write.
DeleteYour book cover looks so mysterious!
ReplyDeleteThank you. That's what we hoped for. :)
DeleteYour book cover looks intriguing.
