In the third novel in the LONG LIVE DEAD RECKLESS series, Talor must find a way to remember what everyone wants her to forget…or lose herself forever.
As a Grigori Princess, Talor has everything most women could ever want: love, eternal beauty, wealth, and power. Supernatural servants bend to her every will and no material desire is denied her, but that rose-colored reality begins to crack when she hears a mysterious voice speaking through music.
After a violent encounter with a sinister figure in the countryside, her husband Rami turns cold and possessive, blaming her for the growing storm between the Grigori and the Dissent. Confused and heartbroken, Talor soon becomes less like a princess and more like a prisoner in her own home.
But as the list of enemies seeking to abduct her from the Valley grows, she begins to wonder what it is they know that she doesn’t. When she is faced with an unthinkable choice, she must be braver than she ever thought possible if she is to discover the shocking truth that will change everything.

EXCERPT:
As a breeze whipped up around us, a strange sound drifted from near the tree line. An overwhelming sense of dread settled in my core when even the trees moved with an eerie sway, and the tall grass against my shins felt like small hands trying and failing to grip and keep me there. When I grabbed hold of the saddle and pulled myself on Acacia’s back, that’s when I saw him. He was where the sound was coming from.
Shhhh…
He had been mimicking me. My skin prickled at the man in a dirty t-shirt and jeans less than ten feet away. He stood much closer than he should have. He was deathly still, with no expression on his blood-splattered face, and black eyes locked in my direction. There was something about this man’s manner that was terrifying and entirely inhuman despite appearances.
With my bow in hand, I took aim, but I wasn’t fast enough. The creature moved to me with the speed of the sons, his face turned down. Blood from his chin dripped just past my foot, so I pulled into Acacia’s side as tight as I could without making a big movement.
The glow of Rami’s protection flashed from my finger and burst off my skin like a solar flare, warning the creature not to touch me. It had only done that once before – when I accidentally came upon the first Prodigal I’d ever met, the sea dragon, Eryx. He was Maros’ son who had been living in exile for 400 years. I only chanced upon him while swimming off Ria’s yacht in Brazil and he was executed for it. I still felt a twinge of sadness at his fate because I was tied to it.
Prodigals were the cast off sons of the Grigori. Out of favor. Marked blue. Bastards. They would never willingly go in Grigori territory, especially the Valley. But Drifters were different. They were crazy enough to go wherever they wanted, regardless of whose land it was. They had no allegiances except to their own selfish desires, but this one looked like he wanted me dead.
Why would he want that?
We both knew he would suffer a painful death if he touched me, but I was so gripped by fear that I had to do something anyway. I raised my bow again and brought the arrow to his face.
“Stay back,” I warned, ignoring the shaking arrow.
He didn’t obey, which had to mean I was dealing with some sort of Drifter. All Loyalist sons listened to their princess. They saw me as an extension of Rami, and they would never dream of disobeying him. Among them, only Levi dared challenge my will, and that was an honor of his position.
I clicked my tongue the way Levi taught me to ease Acacia back and thankfully, she did obey. The Drifter followed every step like strings connected us. His body movements were so alien it was like he’d forgotten how to be human. The longer I looked, the more I began to think he wasn’t a Drifter.
There was no soul inside that shell.
