Lodging Review: Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast in Brownwood, Texas

So tomorrow (September 24th) is mine and my husband's 10 year wedding anniversary. He's had to work this weekend (and on on our actual anniversary), so we decided to go away from September 15th until September 18th when he was off. Luckily, my dad and step-mom agreed to watch our two kids, so a big thanks to them.
I started looking for a place for our anniversary back in February when we got tax money. I spent hours looking on Google, TripAdvisor, AirBnB, and numerous other places to find the perfect place. After narrowing it down to two places, we finally decided on a place called Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast in Brownwood, Texas which is about 5 and a half hours away from where we live.

I loved the how the Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast's website sold the place! The cottages looked amazing online. We liked how each cottage has its own hot tub and how secluded the place was. There are only 3 cottages on the property, so that was a plus. It's also an 18+ place only so that was another big seller to us. There's also no television in two of the three cottages which is great when you are trying to spend quality time with your loved one. Fear not because there is Wifi if you need the internet.

Mrs Deb (one of the owners) makes a home cooked gourmet breakfast every morning which is brought to your room around 9am every morning. They also do weddings, elopements, and vow renewals at Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast. Mr Don is certified to marry couples. This place truly is amazing. There's also a fantastic nature trail with a lot of decorations along the way which I'm sure that Mr Don made since he's a blacksmith by trade. (How cool is that!) Each cottage has its own unique flair. There were plenty of things that Mr Don had made including our headboard and the railing of our stairs leading upstairs to the bedroom.

Anyway, here's my review that I posted on TripAdvisor. I'd write a fresh review, but I don't want to leave anything out. Links to Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast and their social media accounts are at the bottom of this post. Oh, be sure to book well in advance because this place books up fairly quickly!

My TripAdvisor Review of Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast:
My husband and I were looking for somewhere nice to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. After spending hours upon hours of searching for the right place, I stumbled across Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast. This place couldn't have been more perfect!

When we were driving up to the place, we were greeted by Mrs. Deb and Mr. Don, the owners. They were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. They showed us to our cottage, The Wildrose Retreat. There was a bottle of rum punch in our fridge when we arrived. It was so good!

The cottage was so lovely and so very clean! There was a coloring book in there, some card games, and other things to do. The bathroom was huge with an equally huge bath tub! I enjoyed the vanity area in the bathroom too. The bed was so very comfortable, and it was so easy to get a good's night rest. There was also a really nice hot tub for our personal use. The decorations in the place were really nice. Most of them were handmade by one of the owners, Mr. Don, who is a blacksmith by trade. Our room was cleaned every day when we would drive into town.

The hot breakfast every morning was fantastic and delicious! It was hand delivered at 9am every morning. I've never had a better breakfast.

The wifi was great. We never had any issues with it.

There's a little gift shop there too which has some nice little inexpensive gifts. They also have some board games and puzzles you can take back to your cottage and play which was a nice touch.

I loved the two cats that live on the property. They're not allowed in the cottages though, but they are very friendly.

The nature trail was just as great. I loved all the wonderful decorations along the trail. It definitely made our walk more adventurous!

They also have a nice ping pong table although we never played.

Mr Don and Mrs Deb are such good people. You can tell that they genuinely care about what they do. Their place is so gorgeous! We loved every single second we were there. We are planning on going back next year. For the price you pay which is fairly cheap, you get so much. It is a bargain.

If you are looking for a place to unwind and relax, Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast is the place to go!
